Hyaluronic acid – fillers

To look better and feel satisfied in one’s own body

To look better and feel satisfied in one’s own body is something every person wishes for. Thanks to medical and scientific progress, we are now able to correct various flaws, including the initial signs of ageing.

Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers have become an absolute number one in combating initial signs of ageing and atrophy of different parts of the face, primarily lips and cheeks. In our clinic, we use a wide range of dermal fillers that may help you achieve the desired result. Fillers are chosen depending on the area being treated – your doctor will tell you which filler would be the best choice in your case based on the initial examination.

Dermal fillers are an excellent choice in case of lip atrophy (to increase lip volume), for treating initial signs of ageing such as the appearance of defined nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles or loss of facial contours by primarily filling the cheeks, and then other facial regions as well. Doctors in our clinic use the so-called tower technique where tissue is lifted from the deep regions – the benefit of this technique is reduced likelihood of any surface irregularities or the so-called Tyndall effect resulting from injecting the filler too superficially, which causes it to radiate a bluish color through the skin.

Before the treatment, the region to be treated is anesthetized by using a topical anesthetic to make the procedure as painless as possible. The procedure is short – it takes only around 15 minutes to complete. It is performed in cooperation with the client, who occasionally looks in the mirror and suggests what should be filled and how much.

Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are often referred to as noninvasive, but the material is actually introduced in tissue which makes them minimally invasive, so it is of utmost important for such procedures to be performed by a trained physician. Possible complications that may result from injecting dermal fillers include, like with any other procedure, swelling or bruising that eventually disappears, but one should be aware that serious complications are also possible, such as an infection (as the procedure involves introducing the material in tissue), necrosis (death of tissue as a result of clogged blood vessels) or ophthalmological complications (where partial or full loss of vision was described in 24 cases), so it is of utmost importance for the procedure to be performed by a trained physician in a specialized polyclinic to allow for an adequate prompt response if necessary because, for example, it is important to respond within 90 minutes in case of vision loss.

If you think you are eligible for a dermal filler treatment or would like to obtain advice from a professional, please contact us and make an appointment for a personal consultation and our doctor will offer the best solution for your concerns!
