Method for skin disorders
The Erbium laser is a laser used as an ablative method for skin disorders.
It removes benign skin changes.
This laser successfully removes benign skin changes with minimal scarring. What is important to point out is that it only removes skin changes not requiring a biopsy. In case of any suspicion regarding such change, it needs to be surgically removed and the material needs to be biopsied, while the laser removal of a benign neoplasm is the method of choice because of the aesthetically most acceptable scar.
Treating scars and wrinkles
As an ablative method, the Erbium laser is an excellent choice for treating scars, both surgical and those resulting from acne, as well as treating fine superficial wrinkles by initiating, in combination with a chemical peel or an occlusive mask, reparative processes in the skin, which results in a rejuvenated and smooth look.
The treatment is performed after administering a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. The treatment takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. After the treatment, the treated region is, depending on the condition treated, dressed with an occlusive patch or treated as recommended by the doctor to achieve an optimal result. It is recommended to avoid exposure to sun after the treatment to avoid any hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation of the treated area.
During the pre-treatment consultation, your doctor will determine whether or not you are eligible for this treatment – if not, he will advise you of alternative solutions to your problem.
